Advanced Occlusal and Restorative Principles - LVI Advanced Dental Studies
Dr. Dollins and her staff at Bel Villaggio strive for excellence by attending continuing education courses at the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) for Advanced Dental Studies. Below is a description of the Advanced Occlusal and Restorative Principles course that Temecula, CA dentist Dr. Ruby Ann Dollins has completed.
As the doctor continues on the journey through the LVI curriculum, they are seeing more and more success in eliminating pain for the patients in their practice. As they walk their patients through the process of managing and adjusting a healing bite, there are a variety of skills needed to help permanently change a patient’s bite and establish a new more comfortable bite relationship. This program will enhance the clinical skills of the dentist and allow a much better course of treatment as the dentist enhances their skills and competence. This course is the first step toward full mouth rehabilitation.
Although this is not enough training to predictably change a person’s bite, this is the course that teaches dentists how to transfer the new bite to the laboratory and protect that bite while the new restorations are being fabricated. The first course teaches how to make an initial diagnosis as to whether the bite is right, and then establish a new bite scheme. Then in the next two programs the esthetic principles of creating an incredible smile and proper conservative adhesive techniques are covered, but it isn’t until this course that doctors start learning how to rebuild the bite permanently, and it is the following three courses that present the protocol and process that is used to rehabilitate the bite in full mouth reconstruction.
