Below is a description of the Coronoplasty and Case Finishing course that Temecula, CA dentist Dr. Ruby Ann Dollins has completed.

<:orma>The Case Management course is often called the most powerful course of the series. In this program the intricate detail that allows the doctor to refine the way the teeth meet so that the mouth is stable and comfortable is discovered. Most of the frustration and discomfort that people experience after having their mouth worked on stems from the subtle interferences in the way the teeth fit. Often there feels like two ‘bites’ or there is something that just doesn’t quite feel right. The body will naturally respond by trying to grind it out of the way however, this can also be a source of pretty significant discomfort. In the Core VI course the doctors work with advanced instrumentation to determine the timing and gearing of the teeth. Utilizing equipment that can read how comfortable the muscles are, the final occlusal scheme can be refined and finished to a level of detail and precision that supports optimal long term comfort and longevity in the restorations and teeth.

There are two reasons for pain, one is the bite relationship, or the position of the jaw and bite. The other is the ‘occlusion’ or how the teeth fit together. If the teeth, or gears, don’t fit together correctly, the interferences that are caused will create pain when the patient is chewing as well as other destructive physiologic responses. The concepts in this program are used every day in determining the final shape and fit of the teeth and often, it is this course that lays the foundation for allowing a doctor to do a great job of finishing a reconstruction case. In conjunction with the following course, the doctor is exposed to the tools and techniques to be able to manage more.
